Masara Takanashi

Name: Masara Aiane Takanashi.

Pronounication: Mah-sair-rah anne Ta-ka-na-she.

Nicknames: Sara (or 'sara).

Age: 19.

Race: Human/Red bat.

Village/Country: Otogakure no Sato/Hidden Village of the Sound. However, due to events beyond her control, she now serves on Konohagakure no Sato/Village Hidden Among Leaves, or Konoha.

Bingo Book Notes: Masara is known as a A rank ninja in the bingo books. She is known as Kabuto's accomplice and she is good enough to fight against ANBU soldiers. She is ranked as Tokubetsu Jounin in the Village of Hidden Sound.

Build: She's short; about 5'2". Masara is known for her vast flexibilty and thin bones, since she is part bat from her family's bloodline.

Hair: Black and if undone, to the end of her shoulders. Her hair is mostly in double buns, with some hanging down. She only has it fully down when she is sleeping, or not training or on a mission.

Eyes: Sapphire. Sometimes she wears glasses with them.

Appearance: Masara has dark black hair that is put up in two half buns if she is travelling. If she is not practicing or on a mission, she would have her long hair down, which is to her lower back. She has small lips that are sometimes curved in a smirk, and her blue eyes twinkle in anticipation at thinking of her next move.

She wears a huge dress that is dark blue, with long grey sleeves in the wintertime. When it is summer, she will have a short grey shirt underneath the dress to hide her shoulders and forearms. A grey sash is tied to her waist. Her gloves are made with special materials to make sure she does not emit any chakra to interfere with her comrade's hearing, or attack them with motions of her hands. The same material is also on her boots, to prevent damage. Both of them are held together with a buckle.

Masara wears a pair of matching blue pants underneath the dress, and that holds her bag for kunai, tags, and other weapons that may be at her use during battle.

Personality:Masara is the type of person who thinks about her next move constantly. Her mind is always on overdrive, and she tries to rationalise every problem in every different angle. She also tends to try to do things on her own, because she wants to take personal responsibilty for her own work, and not someone else's mistakes.

When Masara is near her teachers and high ranking officals, she is prompt, and addresses them with respect.

Because most of her missions to date have been stealth missions, Masara has often been in the shadows. One of her talents is to be able to just blend in, and not be detected. She will even go so far as to make 'accidental deaths', to steal the forehead protector of a native of a village that she is gaining information on. Because of the jutsus she has learned, it is easy for her to make them look like symptoms of illinesses. She has no conscience in killing for her village, to protect her home.

When she is not on missions, Masara usually can be found reading novels, practicing with her teachers on her jutsu, and reading information on medical jutsu. She also can be seen drawing from time to time, though it is mostly landscape drawings, with stories that are on paper.

History: Masara and her sister Hanajima were raised with their father since their mother passed away shortly after the birth of Hanajima. Their father served on Orochimaru's patrol squadron, and was often away from home. Leaving the children with his sister, Rai often completed missions, sometimes taking a few days to a few weeks at a time to complete them.

One of his missions was to stop any Kohona shinobi from inflitrating the village. He ended caputuring one named Rumi Hotaru. As he was coming to report his findings and progress, Rai overheard other people talk about how the current patrol was going to be on the forefront, and that Orochimaru did not care who's lives were going to be lost. Furious at being used, he broke Hotaru out of captivity before reporting it and took his two children.

Unfortunate for him, they were hunted down as they went to the Hidden Leaf Village. Rai was able to summon Deimos, a bat creature, to get help for his children. He was the first to die, covering while Hotaru took the girls to a safe place. It was when she was at the village border that the rest of the squad came up to them and killed Hotaru. At the sight of this, Masara fled, taking the scroll her father used to summon Deimos, and headed back to Otogakure. Hanajima had passed out from the trauma, and was found later by one of the Kohona shinobi. She was left with a summon scroll that Masara would try to capture years later.

When Masara ran back to the village, she was taken into capitivity, but fought the guards the best that a six year old could at the time while being dragged to Orochimaru. Before she got there, though, she unconsciously unleashed enough chakra through the movements of her hands to pop the ears of the two guards, rendering them unconscious. After careful watch of this event, she was instead admitted into the ranks of Orochimaru's fold, having her memory repressed of the events that happened to her by other shinobi so she could become a loyal asset.

Masara has served Orochimaru and Kabuto faithfully for the remainder of the time that she has been with them. She has used this time to learn what she knows from other people around her. She passed her Chunin exam and has risen to the level of Tokubetsu Jounin.

Once she passed that, and Orochimaru noticed that she seemed ready for other missions, he ordered Masara and Kabuto to go to Konoha and retrieve the scroll that was left with Hanajima. They headed out, only to be headed off by Ichimonju Gou after they retrieved the items and were on their way back to the Sound Village. Overpowered by Gou's Sharingan, Masara was captured. But they headed back to the Sound Village.

Unfortunately for Masara, she ended up being betrayed on more then one front. They had a plan of their own--Kabuto and Masara were going to Konoha to enlist help in overthrowing Orochimaru to liberate people of the Sound. Once Orochimaru found out, he wanted Masara to kill Kabuto and Gou. Once again, she was trapped in Gou's jutsu and Kabuto ordered for her safety in Konoha.

Unconscious, Gou takes Masara to Konoha and questions her about her intentions. It is not until he does this that Tsunade and Gou realise that she was the sister that Hanajima was looking for. After this revelation, Masara somehow unlocks Hanajima's abilities, which are the same as Masara's. Masara's emotional state of trying to fight her orders to kill Gou get the best of her, and her seal activates.

Later on, Orochimaru sends a clone to activate Masara, so that she would follow through with her orders. Masara, by now, has figured out why she was running away, and she tells Gou that she was sent to kill him, then goes to turn herself in to Tsunade. But she already knew when Kabuto explained everything, and how Masara would figure out in her own time about everything. When she goes to turn herself in, Tsunade allows her to stay, on grounds that Gou would be labeled as a traitor and be imprisoned if she did turn herself in, and that she did not attack him, if she was allowed to stay. Masara agreed and hearing screaming from the clone Gou just killed, goes to help him with Ihanu.

Realising that Orochimaru was there to activate her, Masara breaks the counteracting seal that was placed on her and transforms to her second form, accelerating faster then the hand signals can keep up with. While in second form, Masara attacked Orochimaru with Hana and Gou. While she was able to fend him off, Masara transformed into a bat, which is her bloodline limit and died after she did so. Kabuto and Tsunade were able to save her, but she was in a coma for six months afterwards.

Upon waking up, Masara has been listed as a Konoha kuniochi, since she saved the life of three Konoha shinobi, including her sister. She is then placed in a separate unit, which includes Gou, Hanajima and Ihanu, as their medical ninja. This was after Kabuto shortly told Tsunade about her dream to be a Sound ANBU with Tanae and Sanai, who were her best friends in ANBU. She was to be placed in their unit, after coming home from her inital mission of stealing the scroll from Hanajima.

Skills and Abilites: Masara's attacks come from her hands and feet, which send out vibrations for her attacks. She also has the unique ability to attack like a bat for two of her bloodline limit moves. Along with this, she knows some medical jutsu from her sensei, Kabuto.

Level 1 (regular chakra)
Vibration: Masara can make sound waves emit from her fingers and feet in different ranges. She is known to use her power to sneak attack.
Air Wave: Using her fingers, Masara can create a force of chakra strong enough to injure her opponents and slash through things.
Shosen Jutsu/Mystical Palm Technique:: Masara learned this move from Kabuto when she first was taken under his wing. She is able to make her chakra into a blade and use it for combat; this requires precision and accuracy and allows her to sever arteries and muscles with this move.

Level 2 (Cursed Seal; high level chakra intake)
Sonar Wave: In her cursed state, Masara can emit sonar waves from her mouth. This usually does damage to someone's ears, and it does physical damage to the body.
Kyochise no Jutsu/Summon Technique: Masara learned this a while ago, but did not know that her sister, Hanajima, also had a summon. She has a red bat name Deimos, who can change his size and help Masara with her attacks.
Chikatsu Saisei no Jutsu/Healing Resuscitation Regeneration Technique: Masara can use her chakra to heal people, but compared to Kabuto, she is a novice. Often, the two will take turns healing the same person because of the limited chakra that is avaiable to one person.

Bloodline Limit Moves
Transformation: Masara can transform into a bat and make air waves with her wings, much like her first level spell. This one is more amplified, but with the power of seal level two, it tends to drain her entire lifeforce if left in it for too long.

Possessions: Masara does not really carry much on her, other then her pouch for kunai and shuriken. She keeps a few exploding tags on her and some hairtie chopsticks.

She also has a picture of her with two friends, several pictures of her and Gou, a pill container with red pills, and her summon scroll.

Weaknesses: Her real weakness is the Cursed Seal of Heaven, which acts on her emotional state. Because of this, it screwed with her bloodline limit and has made her unable to eat or take in nutrients without the help of a pill. The fact that her bones are hollow like a bats do not help her. Rather, she is more prone to be off kilter during cold times and weather changes.

She also can be activated at any time if they are in close range to do so. To prevent this, Masara will undo her seal herself and make it accelerate rapidly. However, this causes internal injuries to her body, and she will pay a high price for any use of the seal above level one form.

Other things: When she doesn't have her gloves and boots, Masara leaks out chakra and ends up breaking things with simple movements, such as waving out her hand from the force of vibrations. She has to keep her gloves and shoes on at all times.

Friendships/Links: Masara has had quite a few friends since her missions began, and she was paired off for another mission; deep into Konoha.

Kedae Hanajima/ Takanashi Hanajima: Masara's sister and adopted when their father was killed, escaping from Otogakure no Sato with Hotaru of Konohagakure no Sato. She later takes on the last name of Takanashi.
Yakushi Kabuto: Her sensei. She follows his orders, after they both leave the Sound Village to follow through on their mission. She will follow Kabuto's orders before anyone else's.
Montoko Tanae: One of her friends in ANBU in the Village of Hidden Sound; deceased by Masara after trying to return to Orochimaru's place.
Montoko Sanai: One of her friends in ANBU in the Village of Hidden Sound; deceased as she was protecting Hanajima when she learned Masara had a sister and stayed in Konoha. Was buried in Konoha because she protected Hana and Masara as an honorable shinobi.
Ihanu: Hanajima's nakama. She thinks of him as a little brother who doesn't know when to leave things alone. He also likes to rat out to his sensei when Masara does not have enough chakra to train or fight with. Essentially, he watches her back.
Ichimonji Gou: An ANBU in Konoha who seems to have taken a liking to her, despite the number of times the two have clashed in combat. He admits that her skills are on par with his. He later ends up training her as well, and is the leader of the unit that she is assigned to work with.

Rolan: Even she is not really sure who he is . . . all she knows is that he used to be Gou's sensei, and that he pops in from time to time, when needed. She has only seen him twice--once when ANBU came into the village near Gou's house; the other when Orochimaru came back, wanting Masara.
