The other wolves stare at me,
Their uneasiness and fearfulness
Clouding their judgement
As they stare at me
From where I stand.

As I was up toward them
I try to sort out all the confusion
And fear in my mind,
Trying to understand
Why half of them
Feel so helpless
Like myself.

They fail to see
That I can understand all they feel.
I feel their fear,
I feel their hate.
I feel their gains,
I feel their defeat.

I feel all their losses.
But fear outweights
All the other feelings I feel.
